Iron (II) Sulphate (SKU JL-LE-11166, Model No. JL529/0109), also called ferrous sulphate, forms pale green crystals and is supplied by JaincoLab as an analytical reagent with an MSDS. Heating the crystals is a standard decomposition reaction: they lose water, then break down to red-brown iron(III) oxide with a smell of burning sulphur. A fresh solution is also needed for the brown ring test for nitrates.
