The HI-Load 5000, a 5 kN loading device (SKU JA-MI-4923), applies load through a proving ring using a fine-thread screw jack with 75 mm travel. The ring deflection is read by a digital dial gauge that shows the load directly in decanewtons, and a zero-setting switch removes the effect of self weight and the initial set-up of an experiment. The ring works in compression, and a loading yoke is provided so that tension loads can also be applied. It is supplied by JaincoLab for structures laboratories and student projects.
