Burette Base

The Burette Base (SKU JL-LEP-10254) is used to hold and dispense base as the titrant in acid-base titrations. This base burette is Class B, 10 mL, in clear, bubble-free borosilicate glass, at least 0.5 inch in diameter and 17 inches long. A screw-type PTFE Rotaflow stopcock with machine jet flow control is leak-proof, which suits alkaline solutions, and the blue and white scale is divided every 0.05 mL with serially numbered, large block-letter markings. Applications of the base burette
The burette is used whenever an alkali is the titrant, because its PTFE stopcock does not seize with basic solutions. Typical uses are:
- Delivering sodium hydroxide or other bases in titrations
- Finding the concentration of an acid solution
- Paired use with the acid burette on a double clamp
- Practising 0.05 mL readings in volumetric work
