The lever arm type balance (SKU JC-SL-4815) is a direct-reading dual-range balance for school physics and general science practicals. It reads 0-250 g in 1 g steps and 0-1 kg in 10 g steps, and a hook under the pan lets students weigh a body suspended in water to find its relative density and the upthrust acting on it.

Frequently asked questions
What ranges does the lever arm type balance read?
Two ranges: 0-250 g with 1 g divisions and 0-1 kg with 10 g divisions. The swing-over mass on the indicator arm switches between them.
Why is there a hook below the pan?
The hook lets a body hang below the balance, for example in a beaker of water, so its apparent loss of weight can be measured for relative density and upthrust experiments.
How is the balance levelled?
The aluminium frame stands on a three-point base, and a levelling screw sets it level before use.
