B-H Curve Unit
Product Code : JA-PLE-7954
The B-H Curve Unit (SKU JA-PLE-7954) is supplied by JaincoLab for displaying the B-H hysteresis loop of a ferromagnetic specimen on a cathode-ray oscilloscope in college physics practicals. The specimen carries a primary and a secondary winding: a low 50 Hz AC voltage drives the primary, a series resistor gives a signal proportional to the magnetising field H, and a passive integrator converts the secondary voltage into a signal proportional to the flux density B, so the B-H curve experiment using a CRO shows the complete loop.
Specifications
In the unit the primary winding is fed with a low AC voltage at 50 Hz; the voltage across the series resistor R1 is proportional to H and goes to the CRO horizontal input, while the voltage induced in the secondary, proportional to dB/dt, passes through a passive integrating circuit whose output, proportional to B, goes to the vertical input.

Experiments with the B-H curve unit
Students connect the unit to an oscilloscope to see the full hysteresis loop of a specimen, then use the loop to compare materials and to read off quantities such as remanence and coercivity.
- Displaying the B-H hysteresis loop of a ferromagnetic specimen on a CRO
- Showing how H is derived from the primary current and B from the integrated secondary voltage
- Comparing the loops of different magnetic materials
- Magnetism and hysteresis practicals in B.Sc and engineering physics
Scope of supply and ordering
The listing covers the B-H Curve Unit; the specimen with its windings and the oscilloscope needed for the display are set out on the quotation. Accessories, spares and quantities are confirmed on the quotation.
Minimum order quantity, lead time and packing are confirmed on each quotation for the number of units and the delivery destination. JaincoLab supplies single units for college laboratories and larger quantities for institutional and tender orders, including export to Africa, the Middle East and South and South-East Asia.
Frequently asked questions
How does the unit produce the B-H loop?
The voltage across a resistor in series with the primary, proportional to H, drives the CRO horizontal input; the secondary voltage is integrated by a passive circuit to give a signal proportional to B for the vertical input.
What supply drives the primary winding?
A low AC voltage at 50 Hz.
Is an oscilloscope included?
An oscilloscope is not part of this listing; tell us whether you need one and it is confirmed on the quotation.
