Advanced Electromagnetism Kit
Product Code : JL-LEP-10347
The Advanced Electromagnetism Kit (SKU JL-LEP-10347) is a set of magnets, compasses, a magnetic field mapper, magnet wire and hardware for demonstrating the relationship between electricity and magnetism. With this electromagnetism kit students map magnetic field lines, wind a coil on the steel rod to make an electromagnet and observe compass deflection near a current-carrying wire. JaincoLab manufactures it in India for secondary-school physics and general science laboratories.
Specifications
The electromagnetism kit contains two 150 mm bar magnets, two 100 mm U-magnets with a 50 mm jaw, six 20 mm compasses, a 9 × 16 cm magnetic field mapper, a 500 g spool of #20 gauge magnet wire, a 12 mm steel rod, two insulated #14 gauge copper wires and three drilled wood blocks.

Applications of the electromagnetism kit
The kit is used for a sequence of magnetism and electromagnetism activities, starting with the poles and field of permanent magnets and moving on to the magnetic effect of an electric current, in secondary-school physics and general science classes.
- Identifying North and South poles and testing attraction and repulsion with the colour-coded bar and U-magnets
- Mapping the field lines of bar and U-magnets with the magnetic field mapper and the six compasses
- Winding the magnet wire on the steel rod to build a simple electromagnet
- Showing the magnetic field around a current-carrying copper wire with the compasses
- Mounting coils and wires on the drilled wood blocks for classroom demonstrations
Scope of supply and ordering
The listing covers the kit contents given in the specification table: magnets, compasses, field mapper, magnet wire, steel rod, copper wire and wood blocks. A power source is not in the listed contents; accessories, spares and quantities are confirmed on the quotation.
The quotation sets out the minimum order, lead time and packing for the number of kits and the delivery destination. JaincoLab supplies school physics laboratories, science resource centres and bulk education orders, with export shipments to Africa, the Middle East and South and South-East Asia.
Frequently asked questions
What is in the Advanced Electromagnetism Kit?
Two bar magnets, six magnetic compasses, two U-magnets, a magnetic field mapper, a spool of magnet wire, a steel rod, two copper wires and three wood blocks.
How strong are the magnets?
The bar magnets and U-magnets each have a magnet strength of 2 times their weight and labelled or colour-coded North and South poles.
How does the magnetic field mapper work?
It is a 9 cm × 16 cm clear casing with iron filings in a viscous liquid that clearly shows magnetic lines.
Is a battery or power supply included?
A power source is not in the listed kit contents. Dry cells and cell holders are listed separately and can be quoted with the kit.
